The percentage of adults in Guernsey that smoke has fallen to 12.7% in 2013, a huge drop from the 30.4% that smoked in 1988. Figures released in the Health and Lifestyle Survey showed that more than half of adults in Guernsey had never smoked.

The plans are part of a draft Tobacco Control Strategy for 2015 - 2020 which has been released to the public. The health department says the goal is to reduce the level of smoking in Guernsey and Alderney to 5%.
