An ordinance being considered by the South Bethany Town Council would ban smoking on the town's public beach. If passed in April, the town will be the last on the Delmarva coast to enact one. The ordinance will get a second reading March 10.

Councilman Frank Weisgerber introduced the ordinance that would create the ban. Weisgerber says it comes after officials realized South Bethany was the last coastal town in the area to still permit smoking on the beach.
