State Representative Rolanda Hollis (D-Birmingham) wants to ban smoking in vehicles that have minors inside. Hollis said she got the idea after riding in her husband’s truck. The bill will be considered today by the Alabama House Judiciary Committee.

On Thursday, the Alabama House Judiciary Committee will consider Hollis' bill. It would make it a violation punishable by a fine of up to $100 to smoke in a vehicle with a minor, which means anybody under 19.

Police raided the home of Ricky Lee McDonald and Jessica Hite. Police seized 160 marijuana plants along with other marijuana paraphernalia. McDonald and Hite are now charged with chemical endangerment of minors for exposing them to secondhand smoke.
