Intro: PREGNANT women in North Hull are being encouraged to kick the habit to safeguard their unborn children.
Midwives from Sure Start, are targeting women in the HU6 area with a six-week stop smoking course.
As well as attending the friendly course, participating mothers will receive daily support telephone calls during their first week of kicking the habit.
The course, which started yesterday the week before No Smoking Day is being run by Ann Welham, a midwife from Sure Start who has been trained by the Hull and East Riding Community Health NHS Trust.
