Intro: The "tobacco epidemic" is a pressing issue that needs to be stopped and addressed by an international treaty, World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Gro Harlem Brundtland said yesterday in the first day of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) summit.
"We are not interested in tobacco wars," Dr. Brundtland told an assembly of doctors and delegates from the Americas. "We want tobacco solutions."
Founded in 1902, PAHO is meeting this week in Washington to address health issues in the Americas
