Intro: In a joint action to cut the
smuggling chain through Bosnia, customs authorities seized 2.5
million cigarettes and 10,000 compact discs that illegally entered
the country, officials reported Tuesday.
The enforcement sections of the Bosnian Serb and Muslim-Croat
federation customs administrations raided a private house in
southern Bosnia, about 55 miles south of Sarajevo. . . In the last four month or since the start of an overall campaign
against corruption and smuggling, some 40 million cigarettes have
been seized, preventing a revenue loss of $1.5 million dollars,
Fergusson said.
