Rocky Hill's Bistro Ladies Night Features Bachelor Dinner Raffle, Sips and Smokes Jump to full article: Hartford (CT) Courant, 2010-07-27
Intro: Tommy Nevico didn't do the talking for today's Spilling the Beans. The 22-year-old does wait tables and bartend at The Angry Olive Italian Bistro in Rocky Hill, and tonight he and two other bachelors will be part of the prizes in a fundraising raffle. A raffle for dinner with each of the men is just one aspect of "Sips and Smokes for Women" at the restaurant today beginning at 6 p.m. on the patio. Ladies are invited to wear their sexiest sandals, fanciest flip flops or highest heels for the soiree, which will feature fun, food and a chance to jump-start the weekend. So, while Tommy just looked his best, it was marketing director Patty Boissy who Spilled the Beans with Java.
Q: The idea for sips and smokes came from where?
A: From me, I guess. I have been reading articles about women enjoying cigars and we actually had several women at our cigar and scotch event recently. So I thought, why not do one for women? . . .
Q: So three lucky ladies and one lucky charity. Who will the charity be?
A: Le Sorelle d'Italia in Southington. It's the Sisters of Italy, an organization like UNICO. It has about 100 members in Southington.
