Colorado ranks 8th in health report

Colorado ranked No. 8 among the states in terms of its residents' overall health in a report released Tuesday by the United Health Foundation, the American Public Health Association and Partnership for Prevention.

The state's ranking rose from 14th last year.

This year, Colorado ranked No. 20 in terms of prevalence of smoking and No. 1 in low obesity prevalence.
