Intro: Can cigarettes be safe? A new design in the cigarette itself may be able to answer that question. on October first, Wisconsin became the latest state to require retailers to sell "fire safe cigarettes."
You can tell if the pack contains fire safe cigarettes by the markings on the box. FSC stands for fire safe cigarettes. They are designed to snuff themselves out if left unattended.
