Intro: The European Commission has relaxed a range of duty free allowances for travellers entering the European Union, while also giving Member States the option to impose tighter restrictions on tobacco products.
The rules apply to non-EU countries or those areas that are not part of the EU customs union, including Gibraltar, the Canary Islands and the Channel Islands.
They will affect people who have shopped in Gibraltar and are crossing into Spain or travelling to the UK.
