Intro: On average there are more smokers in Hungary than in other EU states, a study of 250,000 European Union citizens found which included 6,000 Hungarians. Spokesman of the HELP EU – For a Life Without Tobacco campaign, János Nagy, emphasised that while the EU average for smokers is somewhere around 27%, more than one-third of Hungarians smoke. Pulmonologist János Mucsi said at last Wednesday’s press conference that he believed that more than 25% of graduates leave high school as smokers.
