Intro: Hungary does not plan to replace written warnings on cigarette packs with shocking medical images, a health official said on Tuesday. Instead of replacing words by images, which has been done in many countries worldwide including Canada and Britain, efforts are currently focused on introducing a complete smoking ban indoors, said Edina Gabor, director of the national health development institute.
Gabor said it is difficult to measure the effectiveness of placing images on cigarette boxes because countries generally introduce several sanctions at the same time.
