Intro: LAUDERDALE LAKES - A fire that burned through an apartment and displaced nine people earlier Thursday may have been ignited by a homeless man's cigarette, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.
The American Red Cross is assisting three adults and six children displaced by the flames.
Authorities said the fire may have been accidentally started by Henry Boykins, 54, who had been living in the electric utility room of a one-story building on the 3900 block of Northwest 30th Terrace.
