Intro: All of these facts and figures point to one conclusion, the longer we wait to increase the cigarette tax, the more people who will succumb to nicotine addiction and suffer preventable health problems.
This issue calls for leadership from the governor and lawmakers. We don't need arguments about offsetting tax cuts; we need help in reducing the number of young people who take up smoking and reducing the health costs that follow smoking.
