Intro: To all tobacco producers:
I would like to apologize for not being able to address you in person this evening. I know how desperate things are and my heart goes out to each and everyone of you. I am doing everything in my power to try to get help for you folks.
I would like to let you know a couple of things about what is going on and the work that continues to go on to help tobacco farmers. . . .
You are a priority for me. As your Member of Parliament, even though we're not there yet, you still remain my number one priority. I and area MPs are doing everything in our power try to help you. I grew up in this area and I am proud to live here. I worked in those tobacco fields and I slugged away during harvest like many people around these parts. It has been a part of our life and identity. I know how important tobacco and tobacco producers have been and are to this region. I will continue to do my best and fight for you guys. So, these are the facts. I am not giving up.
