Intro: City officials are considering taking a proactive approach in promoting smoke-free apartment complexes in Woodland, possibly even requiring a minimal level of smoke-free units in developments that receive government funding.
Following a presentation during Tuesday's meeting, the City Council directed City Manager Mark Deven to draft a resolution stating the city's support of smoke-free housing. Deven said the resolution would be ready for the council's review at the April 15 meeting.
Additionally, the council requested that Deven investigate the implications of passing a city ordinance requiring developments, particularly those that receive public housing funds, to designate a minimal level of smoke-free units.
