Intro: The city of Grand Island will go smoke free a full year before the rest of the state. Monday Grand Island City Council approved a city-wide smoking ban that takes effect June of this year.
The smoking ban passed by a vote of 8 to 2 at a special city council meeting Monday morning.
The ban takes effect June 1st in all public places.
