Intro:

Naswar, or chewing tobacco, is getting popular among youth. Naswar is most commonly used form of the chewing tobacco followed by paan. Most of the young naswar users belong to NWFP followed by Punjab. Snuffing of tobacco or naswar either through nose is also popular.

The increasing popularity of chewing tobacco especially among the youth in the form of zarda and gutka is a cause for concern. The increasing usage of chewing tobacco combined with the ill-perceived notion that it is a relatively safe product compared to cigarettes, may pose a substantial threat to public health. The popularity of the chewing tobacco is growing among the youths owing to the public usage of such products by social models as well.
