Intro: Smokers in Ascension Parish have found less places where they are allowed to light up in 2007, as a statewide ban on smoking approved by the state legislature in last year's regular session went into effect Monday.
The Louisiana Smoke-Free Air Act (Act No. 815) prohibits smoking in most workplaces, public school campuses, public places and restaurants, including those with bars. . . .
The ban has brought mixed feelings in Ascension Parish, as citizens and business owners alike say they will find a way to adapt to the change.
Jan Lu, owner of the Grand Wall Chinese Super Buffet on Airline Highway in Gonzales, said she is not sure yet what will happen with the smoking ban.
