Fate brought the two together when Faulkner was transferred from Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage to Whiteville because Wisconsin's prisons were too crowded. Faulkner has since been returned to Stanley prison in Wisconsin, but a legal relationship lingers in a dispute over second-hand smoke.
