Intro: A new Canadian law will stub out cigarettes which do not extinguish when smokers stop puffing, in a bid to stop hundreds of deaths in house fires.
The new law, to come into force by June 30, is billed as the toughest national legislation on "reduced intensity propensity (RIP) cigarettes" in the world. New York State in the United States recently passed a similar law.
