Come July 1, lighting up will no longer be allowed in most public places in Idaho, including restaurants. Bars and bowling alleys are exempt from the restriction. . . .
At Riggio's, co-owner Gabe Busby wonders how his business will adapt. He said his business actually consists of a restaurant and a bar, which are in separate rooms.
But Sen. Brent Hill, the Rexburg Republican who carried the bill through the Legislature, said the bar would need to be closed off from the restaurant in order to satisfy the letter of the law. . . .
Hill said the legislation will become official Friday, when Gov. Dirk Kempthorne signs it into law.
