Intro:

Some 100 youngsters from around Ohio gathered on the Cincinnati side of the Purple People Bridge and helped make an anti-smoking television commercial Sunday night.

The junior high school and high school students are members of a group called "Stand" whose motto is "Stand up. Speak out against tobacco."

The television commercial was sponsored by the Ohio Tobacco Use Prevention and Control Foundation, which is funded by a settlement that tobacco companies reached several years ago with states that filed lawsuits against the tobacco industry.

The commercial will begin airing on several stations and cable networks at the end of March and will be seen for several months. . . .
