BAT Uzbekistan cigarette output down 7.5% in 2003 

The British-Uzbek joint venture British American Tobacco Uzbekistan produced 6.519 billion cigarettes in 2003, 7.5% fewer than in 2002, the Uzbek state statistics department has announced.

A BAT Uzbekistan management source told Interfax that cigarette sales on the domestic market contracted 3.4% from 2002 to 6.205 billion. Cigarette exports plunged 77% from 661 million (2002) to 150.4 million (2003).
