Intro: Cigarette manufacturers have agreed to distribute a bonus of RM50mil to tobacco growers and curers in January, National Tobacco Board (NTB) Chairman Mohd Zin Ismail said.
He said this was the result of a discussion between Primary Industries Minister Datuk Seri Dr Lim Keng Yeik and the cigarette manufacturers recently.
The bonus would benefit some 22,000 families of tobacco growers and curers under the national tobacco industry restructuring scheme, he told reporters after a function to thank Dr Lim here yesterday.
