Intro:

The American Dental Hygienists' Association (ADHA) is pleased to announce it has received a one year grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Smoking Cessation Leadership Center at the University of California, San Francisco. The $70,000 grant will be used to launch a nationwide campaign to promote smoking cessation through the efforts of registered dental hygienists across the U.S.

"We're particularly excited about this grant, as it will help reinforce ADHA's existing Tobacco Cessation Task Force efforts, messages and strategies," said Tammi O. Byrd, RDH, ADHA president. "Dental Hygienists have the unique opportunity and responsibility to improve health and save lives by educating patients about tobacco and smoking cessation."
