Intro:

According to the surgeon general smoking is a leading killer of women.

And while a new study revels most state governments have failed to address the issue, West Virginia is one of the few states working to break the habit.

Nearly 12 billion dollars in state medicaid funds are funneled into programs each year to treat smoking related diseases.

But a report released Tuesday claims only seven of these programs are clearing the air and lungs of West Virginia women.
