Intro: The popular ATN Bangla channel has been yanked off the air by all cable operators in the city for showing advertisements of tobacco products.
In sharp contrast, programmes of the same channel are available for viewing by consumers in the districts of West Bengal.
Confirming the incident, Kingshuk Chakraborty from ATN Bangla said, "Yes, we do have a problem with ads that promote tobacco brands. The World Health Organisation (WHO) had issued some guidelines which are being followed in Kolkata. So, technically, the channel is off the air in the city."
But what about the districts?
