Intro: A two-pronged attack on smoking in restaurants is underway in Oshkosh.
And, while it is months away from possible city action, the campaign’s kick-off may signal a willingness – maybe even majority support – on the city council to approve a ban.
A newly formed community-based group called “Breathe Free Oshkosh,” working in coordination with the Winnebago County Tobacco Free Coalition, will today unveil a city-wide campaign for smoke-free restaurants in Oshkosh.
The group plans a 12:30 p.m. press conference in South Park to announce the campaign. Kathy Propp, a former Oshkosh mayor and representative for the group, on Wednesday confirmed the group will launch its campaign today. Propp declined further comment until the press conference.
