Kentucky's state budget will fall $170 million short of the funds needed for Medicaid. . .

Medicaid costs alone for the treatment of tobacco-related diseases total $380 million, which shouldn't be too much of a surprise since Kentucky has the highest smoking rate in the nation.

It couldn't be much clearer that decreasing smoking not only means better health but also less costly health care.
