Intro: ayor Michael R. Bloomberg could hardly be more different from the second most powerful person in city government, Deputy Mayor Marc V. Shaw, who last week became City Hall's highest-paid official.
Mr. Shaw puffs inexpensive cigars, favors monosyllabic phrases and shuns the spotlight. The Oscar to Mr. Bloomberg's Felix, he is charmingly disheveled and his main interests are his three children, the Mets and Bob Dylan.
Mr. Bloomberg, whose hatred for smoking is rivaled by his distaste for flying commercial, loves to hold court on any number of subjects. [This graph only]
