We will be trying our fourth cancer suit against the industry when Maddox v. B&W opens 5/4/98 in Jacksonville, in the same courtroom where we tried Carter v. B&W.

Mr. Maddox died a terrible death from lung cancer caused by Lucky Strike cigarettes.

The plaintiffs will present testimony from Dr. Allan Feingold, the hero of Carter; Dr. Elizabeth Whelan; Dr. William Farone, a former Philip Morris researcher, Dr. David Sidransky, a molecular biologist and genetic researcher at Johns Hopkins, and Dr. Richard Pollay, the noted expert in advertising and communications from Vancouver BC.

The trial may last 3-4 weeks.

The Carter appeal is still pending and we are awaiting a decision by the Florida First District Court of Appeal. B&W argued that Mr. Carter filed his case one day too late.

Of interest to attorneys, physicians, and anyone committed to helping victims of cigartte disease nationwide: the formation of the TTLA, the Tobacco Trial Lawyers Association. The TTLA is an organization of qualified attorneys who will accept tobacco injury cases in many states. For more information contact:
