" ...I resent Bob's conclusion that the people running the tobacco companies are engaged in a 'relentless slaughter' of vast numbers of Americans. It is a slanderous lie to imply that they step over corpses to collect your cash and that money excuses everything...Without Virginia Slims there would be no Women's Tennis Champoinships at Madison Square Garden. You insult the intelligence of women in America when you imply that they do not realize the possible hazards of smoking... What was said 44 years ago by tobacco company executives bears no resemblance to what today's tobacco executives are telling people. Your comparison is odious and unfair....We are proud of our relationship with an elightened company like Philip Morris..."
