An advocate brought to my attention the need to highlight this important part of a document previously posted on August 15.
States and countries that want to reduce smoking among their citizens need look no further than this conclusive acknowledgment by the Philip Morris Tobacco Company (PM) that workplace smoking bans lead to a 20% Quit Rate among cigarette consumers.
What better way than to use PM's own data to show legislators that workplace smoking bans definitely do achieve a higher quit rate among citizens. (Thanks, PM!) Plus, since about 80% of smokers want to quit, a statewide workplace smoking restriction law would be invaluable in helping these citizens exercise their freedom of choice.

FINANCES/PROFITS
Fact:
Bans/Restrictions Affect Consumption: 20% Quit Rate w/ U.S. Workplace Bans Increasing Restrictions will have negative impact on P/L [profit/loss] Less Money Being Budgeted on ETS Issue as threats increase on a % basis -- profit impact Smoking restrictions Mitigate Spending on Marketing, R&D, etc.
Conclusion:
-- [Need to use] Less Money to Do More
--[smoking bans have] a Big and Direct Impact on bottom line and is Potentially Irreversible.
TAKE AWAY - Unless Restrictions are Stayed, Business Operations will be Irreversibly, Negatively Impacted.
